LSU is 10 times as good as Bama...

Hear me out...
My father is 73 years old today. He is a hardcore, old school LSU football fan. He doesn't follow any other sport. He doesn't really have any other teams, except the Steelers and Saints.
He always says, "LSU has to be 10 times as good as Bama to beat them by 3 points." He has been right about that over the many years I can recall him saying it. Well, last night, we beat them by 3 points.
Daddy has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and his memory and awareness of things have been noticeably dropping over the last year. I strongly suspect this will be the last LSU-Alabama game he is aware of. I am hopeful he will be clear and lucid at season's end this year to enjoy the rest of this run.
That's my argument for LSU being 10 times as good as Bama - because my old man says so (to beat them by 3 points, which we did).

LSU is 3 points better. That's all that matters.

hell yeah, make it a point to watch as many games as you can this year with him. My dad was of the same mold as a LSU fan. He couldn't really care less about any other team. My last full season to enjoy with him was 03'. The BCSCG was special.

hope you had a chance to watch the game with him or at least talk about the victory with him...that would be a nice memory to think back on in the future...

A little - he's not really retaining details anymore. He knew the past 2 weeks we were undefeated, but he couldn't have told you about specific things that happened over the season. He couldn't hold onto the name of the next opponent. He did remember today that we beat Bama, but only that "We beat them good." He really just has emotional connections to things now, but is not retaining a whole bunch of details (of course he never really did).
I can't watch games with him anymore, because he becomes "Super Mega Negative" guy during games - and I hate that, but it is what it is.

Nice story Ace. I hope this remains a good memory for him.
For me, a Bama fan, it is one I would just as soon forget.
Great game Tigers, hopefully we will see you again come January. If not, good luck on making it 6 in a row.

You just hang on to that if it makes you feel better...but it ain't gonna' happen. You had your chance, and you lost. Good luck in the Sugar Bowl.

Bama is still ranked #3 in the BCS, ahead of Stanford and Boise State. It is not out of the realm of possibility.

Very touching story there.
My dad is getting to be a little on the loopy side as well although he's not diagnosed with anything other than being an old fart. I have to admit, I laughed when I read this because I'm the same way:
