If last night’s LSU-Alabama game earned the second-highest rating for a regular-season college football game on CBS, then who was the first highest?

in the last 24 years.

Best for CBS in 24 years. Still second to ABC's OSU/UM matchup in 2006, which is logical given those storied programs and the higher number of graduates from each.

But, But, CBS can't preempt a CSI rerun. They'd lose too much revenue.

Are those sustained viewing or just the initial?

Initial started about a millionand a half less, numbers increased to 18.86 million, but the time slot was ended while the game was still in the 4th, so the assumption is the next hour grew substantially. Those numbers haven't been released.

I didn't read the link, but do they ever guestimate the actual number of viewers? We had 2 TVs tuned in to the game, but 30 people watching....

Also, bars, restaurants, etc....just curious.
