Yet the national media has this perception built up of Saban, and they assume that he will always outcoach someone.

Yet they seem to gloss over last years Auburn Game.

Little Nicky who gets all the glory for his brains on defense (An make no mistake he is a excellent coach) however they seem to forget that Alabama blew a 21 point lead to their biggest rivalry last year in their own back yard.

Funny how they never bring that up!!

Saban is more nervous as a result of all this b.s. Now if he loses, people are gonna have to come up with something bama did poorly, which gave us the game.

Nick won't take the blame and that's one thing for sure!!!

I think Saban losing to UAB, ULM, and Utah is absolutely ridiculous. It should just never happen. I don't see how you can just excuse it away.

Les Miles is the no. 8 rated college coach in America according to SI 2011.

Jim Rome just said NS teams don't get rattled. What happened last year vs Aub or Utah in 08 or ULM 07, etc....
Also I am sick of hearing about Bamas "mammoth" o line. Last time I checked Lsu o line was also big but no one discusses that.

He still blames Ronnie Prude for his own decision not to play prevent on the fricking last play of the Cap One bowl against Iowa.

I'm surprised at how many times the analysts still praise Saban for always having a team prepared to play and never blaming him for his teams' poor performances or his own poor decisions.

He always has a team that is at least equal to his opponent in the talent department, and he certainly deserves the credit for bringing in that talent. But he also deserves the blame when that talent underperforms and loses the game, but no one ever points the finger at him.

Utah and ULM didn't have talent that in any way approached Bama, but it seems Nick got a pass on those atrocities. He points the finger at the players or the fans or the media and absolves himself of all the blame, and no one dares question him. Not even when he completely choked away the Auburn game last year.

As much as any other reason, I want us to win this game so that the "experts" might actually give Miles the credit he deserves and hold Saban accountable for once.

I agree with all of this, even the excellent coach part.

Les Miles had the better team in '07, barely won.
Nick Saban had the better team in '08, barely won.
Nick Saban had the better team in '09, barely won.
The teams were even last year and Les Miles barely won.

For any media to constantly state that Alabama is better coached than LSU (all coordinators and position coaches included) is just wrong.

He had some head scratchers at Michigan State too. His MSU teams always seemed to get clobbered in bowl games as well.

Clobbered by Gerry DiNardo in 1995 (Independence Bowl). LSU's first bowl game in 7 years.

Saban has lost to UAB and ULM. BUT...he hasn't had the terrible coaching decisions with clock management that Les has had either. It just wouldn't happen.

Saban has losses against UAB, ULM, and Utah at far superior programs. He is a great coach, but not a god of coaching that some make him out to be.

I'd love to see Saban go back up North and rebuild one of their programs. Just to see what the outcome would be. Sure he's perceived as a god down here....he's got all the talent he can handle when recruiting. Everyone likes to admit that Saban made LSU relevant again. Yet no one likes to point to the fact that LSU made Saban relevant. It works both ways. We gave him the chance and a fertile recruiting ground, he did the rest.
