I have noticed that when Lee is on the pocket stepping back ready for a 10-20 yard throw, he very much reminds me of Marino's quick release with the ball. I guess it's Lee's stepback move along with his quick effectiveness with the ball, specially when the LSU receiver runs a slant.

Clearly an advantage over McC. Any thoughts on this?

Yes. I was and still am a big Marino fan. Lee definitely has his throwing motion. But not quite the arm strength.
