The End of the NCAA

Sorry if Germans, but interested in hearing people's opinions on this article.

What would happen if the NCAA dissolved and/or players started getting paid? Would players just start skipping college altogether to go to the NFL (assuming that becomes allowed, which why wouldn't it be in these circumstances?) Or would college ball become the minor league of football (which I guess in some ways you could argue it is already).

Honestly the idea scares me not because I care if players get paid but because I'm not a huge pro football (actually, I'm not a huge football fan, I'm just a huge as hell LSU fan) and I would hate to see college athletics destroyed by this money issue.
