The Big East does need to lose their bid though. But it can't just be rescinded with them not living up to certain criteria. I can't remember what that is exactly, maybe not having a rep in the top 12 in the BCS for 3 straight years or something. Even then, I'm not sure what entity makes the proposal.

Can't remember the exact formula, but they failed to meet it once before and they were allowed to stay. Which means revoking it will lead to a lawsuit.

Other problem is if the BE gets kicked out the non-AQs will have a majority and will be able to pass NCAA legislation giving themselves a more equitable deal. Then the big boys will have to decide two things: (1) is it worth throwing away March Madness to secede? and (2) are they willing to go a step further and kick out the bottom feeders in the AQ conferences?

what the frick?

that's not how it works. there are more schools with votes than BCS schools, but nobody fricks with the system b/c they risk losing everything. non-BCS schools will get bent the frick over if they try to frick up the system

Actually, the AQ schools would still be the majority with 62 members compared to 58 non-AQ schools.
