It doesn't matter what happens against Bama.

That thought is how I'm going to get through this game.

This is the best LSU team I have ever seen. It sucks that there might be one team better than LSU this year, and it sucks that they happen to be in the same conference, and it sucks that they happen to be in the same division of the same conference, and it sucks that we have to travel to T-town to play that game, but it doesn't change the fact that this team is special.

If someone would have told me that LSU would be undefeated going into the Bama after the schedule they had leading in, frankly, I would have thought they were crazy. To say I am pleasently surprised is an understatement.

Yes, I will be heart broken if they lose, but it won't change the fact that they have played a hell of a schedule to this point and have dominated everyone. I don't know what Bama will do in this game, but I do know that LSU will bring the wood. If LSU loses, it will not be from lack of effort or poor preparation.

That's the most retarded statement I have ever seen. I hope the players aren't as scared of Bama as you. If they are, we will lose, but the good news is they are confident and not scared of Bama and will go in there and show the world who the best team in college football is

I'm thinking very similar thoughts. I approached last week (as a fan) as if it were a game week - reading TD and other sites and getting all spun up for the game. Now I'm at information overload and the stress seems to have passed. My neuroses over Xs and Os and what tactical advantage either side has have faded. I'm at peace. I cannot fret over this game any more. The big boys will play the game and we'll get to watch. Nothing I will read or see on TV will change that.

On Saturday I'll go grocery shopping, watch the day games, cook supper, give my kids a bath, tuck them in, then plant myself on the couch and enjoy the ride. Should the chips not fall our way on Saturday the consolation prize is a Sugar Bowl berth (barring the unforseen), which ain't too shabby. I love where our program is at right now, and losing to Bama on Saturday will not change that.

It's a great time to be an LSU Tiger.

No one is saying anything about being scared dumbass. Dude simply feels if we lose he's proud of what this team has done up to this point. I don't think we lose but there's nothing wrong with have that thought of losing cross your mind. Tigers 27-20.

I don't see why some people can be content with mediocrity. If you feel that a loss here is okay and justify it with a consolation prize of playing in a meaningless Sugar Bowl against Boise, you are probably the same person that thinks their son deserves a trophy just for playing in the game.

I get what you are trying to say, but it most certainly does matter.

I just told the wife to see if we can get the kids out of the house for the game with grandparents...and that I'm going to be a nervous wreck come 6pm...she smiled and just said "its only a game honey"

Agreed with her 100%...but I will still be pacing...

I'm not worried about getting through the game, just worried about getting through the week until the game.

Most of us are Diehard Tiger Fans and no one game defines us.

However it sure as hell does matter if we win or not.

We are getting there, not quite there yet, but soon and hopefully for the foreseeable future I hope our fan base will relish games like this and expect to win rather than posting how good we are win or lose.

Winning games and championships is a mindset and I am sure the players believe winning matters.

By this logic a loss on Saturday is not okay. Then what? If we lose, what corrective action should we take as a program? Are the Tigers then less worthy of our adoration if they lose?

I cut my teeth on the mid- to late-1970s Tigers. Maybe that means I value the nuts and bolts of a program - its identity and the shared experience I have had growing up and watching them play - more than I value winning. I'm alright with that.

Winning - the right way - should be absolutely foremost in the minds of the players and the coaches. But as a fan, it is only a component part - albeit a large one - of what it means to be a Tiger.

Just remember this kids - it's a great time to be an LSU Tiger! For god's sake enjoy it!!! I can promise you it will not last forever.

LSU football is up right now. Baseball is looking up - there is hope in basketball, etc... That any/all of these will be down again sometime in the future is inevitable, but then we will rise again.

This is our team - enjoy the ride.

Win or lose Sat it will still be a great season and a great team. (unless we then go on and lose to Ole Miss or Arky or some stupid shite like that!)

Couldn't have said it better myself.
We being older think through the win or loss.
It's not bad the other way its just a different way.
