I'm 60 years old and I remember as a kid, Bama and GT had the best rivalry in the South. That rivalry back in those days are comparable to the Ohio State/Michigan rivalry back then and today. You have to know that back in the fifties and early sixties, Bama and Auburn didn't play that often. Bryant and Dodd screwed GT. Tech's home gams have never reached the level that they were while in the SEC. The ACC is nothing but a revamped Big East. Bowden screwed FSU by taking the chicken shite option by declaring that he didn't want FSU to play Bama and Auburn in the same season. Hey Tech and FSU fans, how many of ya'll are going up to Pitt and New York every two years? Lord, I hope that the SEC stays regional.

I'm over 60 and grew up in Jackson, Miss. I was a little kid about 6 or 7 when our next door neighbor got a football scholarship to Ga. Tech. He used to send us pennants and stuff back from Atlanta.
I remember them having a very good football program, it's a shame they left. Dad had gone to LSU and later I did also. He took my brother and I to the '58 and '59 Ole Miss games, both in Baton Rouge. If they weren't rated #1 an #2 in those games it was very close. What great memories.
