Mark Hamill, the guy who portrays the animated form of the Joker, is actually Darth Vader's son. And yes, Hamill is indesputably the definitive Joker. He can be both very sinister and very funny. Heath's Joker extremely violent and murderous, but wasn't really funny. He was fun to be sure, but not funny. He could never put someone in a false sense of security before he went in for the kill like Hamill's could. Jack's was the exact opposite. He was funny, but not really frightening or unsettling. Make him watch "Return of the Joker" as well.

Dude. Heath redefined the Joker. It's really not close.

Heath's a sign of the times man. He's a great Joker, no doubt, but he's not the true essence of the character. I mean pretty much all the Joker's usual weapons are out of the picture with Heath's, aside from guns, knives, and crowbars. Hamill's can adapt to pretty much any situation and is truly timeless. You can see him holding two boats hostage waiting for them to blow the other up or poison make up of everyone in town just so they die with a smile on their face. Can't see Jack or Heath's Joker doing both those things. In 40 years, directors and writers will be looking at Hamill's interpretation as the true essence, not Ledger's. If you read the comics, Ledger's interpretation doesn't really fit that much. It's easy to imagine Hamill's voice on the page though.
