Marijuana is a gateway drug. Been proven for many years now. Alcohol is also a gateway drug but is socially acceptable and is not illegal. Many people smoke marijuana for recreation but some begin doing other drugs when the marijuana high is not enough. Some people drink alcohol and try cocaine for the first time. Six in one hand and a half a dozen in the other. Both come with their own risks. One is too many and a thousand is never enough for some people.

You are confusing correlation with causality. Of course heroin addicts and coke heads started with weed. It's the cheapest and most accessible drug there is. So when asking a meth head what the first drug he tried was, 99% of the time it will be weed. This DOES NOT make it a gateway drug. I know many people who have tried weed and have zero desire to try hardcore drugs. If weed didn't exist, those that abuse heroin, coke, etc. would still abuse them.

Hey Gump, sorry I did not spell it right ... Depends ... adult diapers.

We have enough talent to beat your team without trying to justify why we should ignore the things people should not do for the sake of sports. Bad choices have consequences whether you agree with rules.

I love the mental fire drill people get into about getting high and how to justify it... very, very stupid.

"Stupid is what stupid does"

I do not want either team to have ready-made excuses if they come out on the wrong side.

Can't prevent this......No matter what happens excuses will be made.

I would personally like to take this time to go ahead and blame it on the REFS!! It will definately be all their fault!

Marijuana is a known gateway drug Dr. Phil
I'm torn on this issue. On one hand, there are plenty of people I know of who smoke weed but do no other drugs.

But on the other hand, of all the people I know who have been hooked on hard drugs, they started with smoking weed, and "graduated" to harder drugs.

Although you can make the argument that those people would have been hooked on drugs whether or not they smoked weed first.

So I know "gateway drug" is a term pot-heads hate, there may be some truth to it, based on my own anecdotal evidence.

I mean, when you listen to an addict's story, it always starts the same way... "When I was a teenager I started smoking weed"...

THIS. People who smoke hate to be classified as a drug addict but the fact is... if you have to get through life stoned your life kind of sucks. Too many good things about this world to stay smoked out all the time.
