A couple of corrections, first the merger is between Conference USA and the MWC, not the WAC. Secondly, unfortunately Houston isn't a big college football town. I live nearby and am always disappointed in how little coverage it gets on the local ESPN radio station. They spend 99% of the time talking about the Houston Texans or Dallas Cowboys on the local afternoon shows. On Saturday mornings, they choose to have a local call in show to get the selling price of your car instead of airing College Gameday. I guess the bright side is that if you want to go to a Rice game, you can have your own section of the stadium. If you go to a Houston Cougars game you can still manage to have your own couple of rows. Unfortunately, it reminds me of my years at Georgia Tech.

like ramblin said, UH doesn't have a lot of support in Houston for some reason and Texas doesn't want them in.

There is virtually no college football talk on Houston radio. The afternoon show with Carl Dukes is 99% Texans and 1% rest of the nfl.

Today right before the world series I did hear some college talk but it was all UT with someone that sounded like a LHN shill. It wasn't Dukes hosting but I did recognize the voice, not sure on name.
