Brown and Bowden were very lucky and had dual- threat QBs who turned out to be very effective (Terrance Jones and Sean King). Given Frank Wilsons recruiting ability -Id bet he could dip into the vast talent pool in La. and get a playmaker the big schools would not want as a QB and make a descent run. In addition Toledo is running a version of the West Coast offense which will never work at a place like Tulane.

Tulane won't be any good until the get an administration that backs the athletic program.

Memphis is basically the same way, with an administration that doesn't back the athletic program. Porter is finding out how hard it is to recruit at a school like that. I think Wilson would have it better since he could get the NOLA kids LSU and other big schools didn't want, but I don't think it would be enough to make them a "good" program.

Duh, it was asinine to run a pro-style offense there.

They have to go some variant of Air Raid/Spread Option to have any success there.
