Went last night. Very impressed. Fried softshell crab for an app., sauteed drum with crabmeat for an entree. Outstanding food. Only negative was the wine list - there really is none (just a house white and red). Otherwise, damn good meal.

It is the kind of place that won't have a wine list. The lunch specials are very good as well.

Great place. Love the catfish & grits w/ creole sauce; it's even better when you get softshell crabs instead of the catfish. Boiled crabs are also top notch. Dirty boys and Cane River meat pies are good to try, as well.

Brigsten has done a really good job there. Only thing is that there aren't many other things on the menu that I want to try. If they added more of a variety of options, I'd go more often.

The lunch specials are pretty good. My favorite is the one on Thursday.
Butter beans with ham, andouille, popcorn rice and jalepeno cornbread. For 7.50 it is a great plate of food.

I get the no need for a wine list, but at least 3 choices of white/red is what I somewhat expected. Still, minor flaw in the grand scheme of things.

My wife had the "un"fried seafood platter and enjoyed it... said the shrimp cornbread was amazing. Fish w/ crabmeat topping was really good. The baked oysters were a waste of space, though.

Yeah, it wouldn't hurt them to get a few more wine choices. And while they are at it, maybe some actual wine glasses too.

I think Frank is trying to keep it true to the original without fussing up the place. Just fresher food and a few more options than fried or boiled seafood. The kind of food served at the place is better with beer than wine.

I'll drink wine with anything. I'm classy like that.

Yeah- but I kinda expected the hi-ball glass.
That's standard for neighborhood joints ;).

One thing I love about Mosca's.

But they aren't high balls. They are juice glasses!
