Another car buying thread...

I am planning on buying a used vehicle and would appreciate any help.
Has anyone used Texas Direct Auto or any similar sites? I've done some looking around, they seem to have good prices. I don't enjoy haggleing.
I've been trying to wait until the 2012 models come out, I thought they would around Labor Day. Am I doing the right thing or should I not expect the prices to drop very much right as a new year is released?

What are you looking for? There are probably already some low mile, current year model cars for sale on autotrader.com. People on this site really like texasautodirect.com, but google them, and you'll see they get alot of bad feedback. I know they also deal with a high volume of customers, but I didn't like what I read.
When I bought my wife's car last year, I did almost all of the "haggling" over e-mail, which made the process a little smoother. And, when I couldn't get the price down, I got them to throw in free delivery to my door so we wouldn't have to waste a day driving back and forth to the dealership (3 hours away), and I knew the delivery guy wasn't going to try and sell me on anything else. I highly recommend asking about that.

couple thing about TAD
they buy cars at auctions, clean the hell out of them, and selling them with little markup(make money by selling tons of them)
they don't know anything about the vehicle that's not on the carfax report
don't expect your arse kissed like a traditional dealership
most of the people giving bad reviews expected their arse kissed or didn't understand that you are purchasing the vehicle "as is"
i know many people that have bought vehicles from them and most were satisfied, one had the transmission go out a month after buying it

Texas, as in state of Texas? heed warning..... they have no guarantees on vehicles after you buy them - state law.
also DMV makes it hard to get a title thru them when it's bought out of state.
