Russ Mitchell really likes the tigers this year. He was also pretty much spot on with his prediction of the bama-florida game. LINK

very nice

quote:

It’s counterintuitive, but Alabama might have too easy of a slate heading into November 5. The Tide have Vandy, Ole Miss and Tennessee before the bye. Absent injuries, LSU will get to stay closer to fighting shape with Florida, Tennessee and Auburn, before it too has a bye.

This will be the difference: LSU’s Les Miles is the best coach in America with a week to prepare, and both of LSU’s quarterbacks have played against tough defenses, including this Bama one. However, this will be, by far, the toughest defense A.J. McCarron has ever seen. Even in Tuscaloosa, we’ll take the experience.

I've felt the same way. No offense to the Gumps but man LSU has faced a much tougher road and will face a tougher road....to me, that makes you better when you have to be. I've watched LSU since 67- this is the best D I've ever seen at LSU

Baring injuries, no one beats us. If we get up a couple scores in the next 3 games the starters need to rest

I like his point about how McCarron has never seen a defense like LSU's, but Lee and JJ have seen a defense like Alabama's before. Interesting.

Can't wait for November 5th!

I think of alot of people on the networks forget that Bama wears defenses down with TR. No question he is a beast and is a YAC guy, but the difference is our depth at DT. Most teams are gassed, alot like our opponents are, in the late 3rd and 4th quarters from constant poundage of the the running attack. We are so deep and talented that I think we wont wear down like all the teams have so far. I like our chances alot. The only concern I have is our smaller LB's. The DL is gonna have to slow TR down to help out. The DB's will have to man up and let the front seven contain their running attack. Plus its to our advantage just about EVERYONE thinks we are a bogus #1 and BAMA should be, so the chip on the shoulder mentality will be in effect.
