What do South Florida, Louisville, Cincinnati, Rutgers, UConn, and West Virginia do next year?

Look at adding:

Memphis
Central Florida
Marshall
Tulane
Houston
Louisiana Tech
ULL

Memphis and UCF would be automatic adds. I'd even say Tulane might be an ok fit. If Houston doesn't get a Big12 invite they'd be stupid not to accept a BE bid.

Poor Tulame!

Amazing just how far they've fallen.
From being a founding member of the SEC to looking for a hand out, that's what stupid decision making will get you.

I'd love to see Tulane in the Big East. Maybe we'd start playing them a little more often.

Big East falls to the level of a Mountain West or Conf USA, BCS bid will be pulled and more for the big boys

In retrospect, the Big East was doomed for failure almost from the beginning. The conference is a basketball first conference (and a damn good one) but doesn't have the DNA to compete with the other major conferences in football. Universities only have so much money to dedicate to athletics and it almost comes down to picking where you spend the money.

How do expect schools that have a legit athletic department with competitive teams in different sports (i.e. W.V.) to be comfortable in a league that has BB only schools tied up with them? You can't.

Temple is almost assuredly going to get the invite if the big east survives. People on this board evidently don't think of the northern schools. Nova may be asked to move up in football. Marshall, ull lt, and Tulane? Are you kidding me?

IF...IF the Big East survives, this is how i think it looks.

1 West Virginia
2 Connecticut
3 Cincinnati
4 Louisville
5 South Florida
6 Rutgers
7 Temple*
8 East Carolina*
9 Central Florida*
10 Army*
11 Navy*

12..Marshall/Houston/Memphis/Villanova/Southern Miss...???? Even if they expand...that conference will suck! BCS worthy?
