I am looking for a picture my father told me exists but I have yet to find it in numerous years of searching. It appeared in a book that he can not remember the name of.
The picture in question is of my great uncle, Pete Burge, making some kind of incredible catch against Tulane to tie the game in 1933. I have found articles/obituary referencing the play just no pictures.
Also if anyone has any team pictures from the 1930's-1940's because I believe my Grandfather may of been on some of the late 30's teams as well. ( I have found his track medals from Penn Relays and SEC Champs)
I know this board is in turmoil with other things but if anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to get some things framed for my Dad for his birthday. Thanks everyone.

burgeman: Just curious...this wouldn't be the Pete Burge who was Principal of Baton Rouge High School in the late 50's and 60's?

The name of the book is The Fighting Tigers. It is on page 116.

now, where else could you ask an obscure question like this and a half dozen people not only tell you what book that very picture is in, but the page number and post the photo as well...this board never ceases to amaze me...makes me feel good that there are so many folks out there with this kind of knowledge of LSU history.... ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconbow.gif)

Maybe I can be some help. I played BB at BRHS for Coach Burge...My Jr. year we finished 2nd in state and won the State Championship my senior year. We had our 50 year reunion for that team in 2004...amazingly all of us were still alive.
Gerald Walter, Attorney in BR gave a presentation in memory of Coach. Mrs. Burge loaned Gerald Coach's scrap book and "The Picture" was in it and was much better than the one here. You may want to call Gerald or Mrs. Burge...Your father would probably know how to reach her.
I won't bore people about Coach Burge but do let me say he was incredible and still enjoys the deepest respect from all of those who played for him.
If you would like to call me I am in Daphne, AL
