Miles playing his usual poker

I see all kinds of posts about the bland offense and all kinds of other complaints. Meanwhile, Miles is not showing anything at all unless and until he absolutely has to. Miles wants to make the FLA, TENN and Bama teams/coaches think long and hard about how much they have to prepare for Lee and JJ, so he introduces JJ into the game in an interesting and early timeframe, and then again in the 3rd QTR, just to add a measure of uncertainty. Miles knew the consternation it would cause, but to hell with that, as he knew he could get it out of the way and move on - as should all of the people who were stupid enough to expect polite applause when JJ came onto the field. Are you freakin kidding me? What a naive person you are if you had that expectation from this fan base.
And oh Saban... let Trent Richardson run the wildcat. Miles knew that was in their package already, just like with Ingram last year. Saban probably also knows that LSU has Ware in a wildcat package, but in addition to Lee and JJ (and maybe Mett), Ware coming in to take direct snaps is something he will have to guess at - at least a bit.
Plus, we have 3rd and 4th stringers like Blue and Magee with more/some experience now, while the opponents have less of our playbook on film leading up to the bigger games.
Miles is a poker player. He shows no cards until he has to. Does he play it too close sometimes and risks close games against teams we should shallakc while Bama, Wisky and OU types are running their 1st teamers out there into the 4th QTR? Yes, he does. But when he has the horses and coaches like we do in 2011, he will pull it off, unlike the last 2-3 frustrating years when those horses and coaches were not in place like 2011.
Patience people. Miles has a poker playing system, and he is running that system to a T.
Relax folks. Genius is hard to follow, so trust the Hat on this one. He's got the winning plan.
Geaux Tigers !

He doesn't have an ace up his sleeve -- he has a SECRET PLAYBOOK!

I have always said that your user name is the most ironic one on this board. You people read entirely too much into stuff. All of that stuff you typed is in YOUR head...you have no clue what the coaches are or aren't trying to do.

+1
Miles is violating many people's cerebral cortex.

but, but, but didn't crowton take the secret playbook with him?

frick me, not this stupid argument again
How many years did we wait for Crowton to "open up the offense" - it never happens. Miles has never ever withheld plays based on who he was playing in the coming weeks. The offense is what it is, he is not that smart nor does he scheme that far in advance.

I have ZERO doubt in Les Miles.....
wasn't always a huge supporter but you cannot argue with the results the man has achieved....
Now, I'm ALL IN!!

This X 1000.
Sometimes the offense may play better or look better depending on what defense they are against, but there is no big scheme by Miles to hide plays and try and catch another team off guard.

oh, and your rocket scientist jokes are weak

you are spot on, this is just like Saban putting Richardson in the wildcat. Now the def. coordinator has to split time on what they work on.

I agree completely. The defense on Saturday was nearly completely bland.
I was very pleased.
Same with the offense. He showed JJ as a runner just enough to cause the OC from other teams to have to plan for him.

Call me naive. I was so disappointed. I want JL to start and be the QB, but 4 rushes for 29 yards and TD to add to our arsenal is really good.

What a joke. There is no masterplan.

Lol, y u mad though?
You've never been a Les fan...sucks we're having so much success and stacked for years to come.

why cant you type out words like a normal person, you do know there's no 160 character limit here, right?
there's no anger, it's just a dumb premise. For as long as this board has been clamoring on about Miles, every year, it's "he's just holding back the big-boy plays for the big-boy games" and yet, week after week, we see virtually the same offense.

nope, still not - regardless, doesnt change the fact that nothing in his track record to show he purposely witholds entire sections of the playbook simply because he doesnt want to "show his hand." that's just wishful thinking by the fan base

Why would we do anything other than pound the lines against KY?
Did you see the difference in the defense this past week as opposed to games via the stronger opponents?

You nailed it! The idiot never has a plan and just wins on sheer talent especially when playing less talented teams like Bama, Florida, Oregon, WVU, tOSU, etc.
