Big 12 confirms that Brady Deaton hasn't resigned as expansion committee chairman because he never was chairman, he's 1 of 5 on committee

Why is Auburn so excited to go to the East? Are they scared?

Your West: 6+2-2=6
Your East: 6+2=8

If you add 2 to west, then only one must move east.

Brings back old rivalries with Florida and Tennessee. Two great casualties of the early 90's realignment.
ETA: Well, the yearly Florida game didn't actually die until the early 2000's, but you get the point.

Basic math is fun.

Dear Lord I hope not. I want them left out in the cold.

We haven't paid much attention to anything other than our own situation though.

But I don't want LSU to be stuck in the loser's bracket division with Mizzou, the two Mississippis, Arkansas and aTm, while all the other exciting glamor teams in the SEC will be in the East.

Our traditional rivals are in the east. We use to play Tennessee and Florida every year and those were big rivalry games. We would keep playing Georgia. We fit better geographically in the east. I still think that there is a possibility if this is all true, that Missouri could come into the east.

Mizzou to the east - for this week. All rivalries in tact. Mizzou plays A&m as cross division rival. Sec to go to 6-1-1 schedule for one year.

This is just my guess.

Interestingly, before the institution of divisional play, many of Auburn's yearly rivalries were with teams in the East (Florida, Georgia and Tennessee), while Tennessee's yearly rivalries were with teams in the West (Alabama, Auburn and Ole Miss).

From the SEC Wikipedia page. Flame more.
