High-stepping into the end-zone

Isn't that supposed to be a penalty this year? I know it is nit-picking at this point, but when WV scored (I think the first touchdown), their receiver started high-stepping on the 2 yard line. I thought that beginning this year, that was a dead ball penalty at the spot of the foul, then -15 yards. Did anyone else notice this? Maybe I'm just confused, certainly wouldn't be the first time.

It will be a penalty if one of our players does it at Alabama.

i thought the same thing...but i am really glad the refs didnt call that. i hope no ref ever calls this new stupid rule change because it gives them way too much power to directly affect the outcome of a game on a judgement call

and most importantly, them pernts get taken away. I hate the thought of such, just keep the penalty on the kickoff.

Oh, I agree that it is a stupid penalty and I'm glad that I have not seen it enforced to date. Just making sure I wasn't trying to make a reality out of one of my lucid dreams

Damn! I'm 44 and this is the way it was when I played high school football back in the 80's! No room for this BS!

They would have had a full out riot on their hands had they called that.

whatever GRAMPS!
the celebration in college football is much less than it used to be, thanks to the penalties. I just didn't think there was a need to get tougher. it's not like endzone celebrations had gone back to guys doing full blown dances or taking their helmets off.
if a kid gets a little too hyped and dives/ high steps, hit the team with a 15 yard penalty on the kickoff. don't take away the points, bro.

It really isnt a judgement call if called properly... If they are making movements that are not football oriented then its show boating... If there is a guy near him and he is afraid he will dive at his feet he highsteps to get away from that, but if you are doing it for no reason, there is no reason.

Refs discretion, sucks. Don't know if ya'll know, Upshaw kicked a downed vandy player tonight, ref was right there, didn't throw a flag, didn't call the cops, and didn't confiscate his shoes.
