So I inspected the Aggie gameday atmosphere

Wife and I went to the Aggie game yesterday. I haven't been to one in about 16 years.
Overall not bad but really makes you appreciate the greatness that is LSU gameday. Their tailgating was not as wide spread. I was amazed that we were able to park on campus so close to the stadium as late as three hours before kickoff. I informed all the Aggies I met that they were going to have to step up their efforts if they want to be a part of the SEC.

I live in College Station and have done so for several decades.
Bottom Line: For the past 6 or 7 years you can't park on campus...ON ANY DAY OR FOR ANY REASON...unless you already have a parking pass or you park in one of the public parking garages which aren't anywhere near the stadium.
There are two parking garages close to the stadium but there is no way you parked there unless you had a game day parking pass from someone who has season tickets or a student parking pass like my daughter has.
If you're telling me you just drove up and parked on campus you're either b.s.'ing me or you were parked illegally.

I respectfully disagree that you can't park on campus within a few hours of kickoff.
I park at the relatively large parking lot on campus near the veterinary complex at the corner of Agronomy and University whenever I come to College Station for Texas games. Costs $10. It's first come, first serve.

Where were the tailgates you attended? Not widespread?
Reed Arena? Spence Park? With the frats?

Bad wording. Our tailgating while fewer in number than LSUs (but everybody's is) is more widespread. It's at Spence by the stadium, it's on West campus at Heap and Kleburg, it's at Reed Arena, & Olsen Park

That lot is over a mile away from the stadium. Is that "close?"
The biggest public lot is over by the Polo fields near University and and Texas, and there are plenty of spots there a few hours before kickoff too for $10, but that ones about a mile and a half walk to the stadium.
In any case, available parking is a function of the number of available spaces too, so how many parking spaces are open at any particular time doesn't give you the be all end all of how many people are tailgating anyway.

Point taken, previous poster. But it's still "on campus."

It has improved exponentially over the last few years. They will learn as they go to SEC venues.

All are welcome at A&M!
After the game I told several OSU fans their job was to make life miserable for tu from now on. I think they have the team to do it too.

Our campus is 6,700 acres. You can park at Riverside Campus 6 or 7 miles away and be on campus
But, you can park at the vet school for $10 and it doesn't fill lots of times. Lots of people park around town and ride the bus to the game

Hope you didn't step on any memorial grass. They get agitated about that.

It's only at the MSC and there's plenty of signs to let people know.
But the MSC is under construction so it's all roped off

Do you disrespect all memorials? Or pick and choose certain ones?
