Is 40-14 a blowout?

Most real fans understand schemes, and realized Chavis knew you would get your yards, so he put us in positions to make plays on the ball.

Do you honestly think we would blitz as much as we usually do against a team known for quick hitches and screens?

Besides that, good luck rest of the season.

you obviously arent too much of a realist. 26 points (and we both know should have been worse) is a blowout.

Classy post. Your QB is the real deal. He definitly pushed our defense, so I imagine he will be a nightmare for Big East foes. I will enjoy seeing you guys win out.

Pretty solid post, but I have to take a shot at this line:

quote:

Im a realist and knew are chances were slim, but when you turn the ball over 4 times (2unforced!) then that doesn't help at all.

All these turnovers aren't random events. Oregon said the same thing ("look at the yardage - if it wasn't for the turnovers...").

Your style of offense exposes you to more risk of a turnover. The 2 interceptions are the cost of doing business when you throw it 65 times against a great secondary. The Mathieu forced fumble was just a great player making a great play. And the 4th turnover was that touch volleyball reverse play that, itself, is an unorthodox play, but again being unorthodox and cute sometimes gets you burned.

Going for it on 4th down was great when it worked as part of one of your scoring drives. But not so great when you didn't convert and it left us with a short field and an easy TD to go up by 19 in the 4th quarter.

So, my advice (not that you asked for it) is that if you're going to get behind Holgerson and this style of play at WVU, expect to rack up yardage and sometimes points, but be prepared for your defense to be put in a lot of tough spots along the way.

What I meant is it wasn't as big a blowout as the score indicates. A late td (3:03to go) when the game was decided. Yes in the box score it was 26 points and that looks bad. We definately deflated after th ko return.

As I said though. Good game, good fans.

If our WR with the surest hands doesn't drop a wide open TD right in his hands, the game is over in the 2nd.

Moving forward, anytime a team beats you by four TD's, that is a blowout.

FYI

One int was off our receivers hands (who was open) and tipped to a db. One fumble was just a dropped ball from Geno. As far as your receiver dropped a pass or it could have been worse, that's spun two ways. Our turnovers and could have been td drives. Neither were so you can't claim that it could have been worse, just like I can't claim it could have been closer or we could have won because those plays didn't happen. I figured some wouldn't agree, but it is what it is. Just saying game was contested closer than what the final indicated.

But it wasn't. It was the attempted touch-volleyball reverse play. It was an attempt at being unorthodox, which could result in a big play, or a turnover.

Right, but when you pass it 65 times you have to understand that those things will happen more often.

So why say every reasonable fan knows it was much closer than the score indicated?

In fact, 2 INTs in 65 attempts isn't "terrible", especially if balanced against TD passes.

We left 7pts on the field..Randle very seldom drops a pass in his hands like that....but yes, I was never in doubt of the outcome of the game..when you got within 6pts of us...WE TURNED THE INTENSITY BACK UP...no, you didn't stand a chance after that...would you have felt better if the score was 60-21?...

You guys have a nice passing game, though we should have picked a few more of those passes.

Not trying to be cocky, but down by 20 at half, and lose by 26..... that's a blowout their boss.....you guys got some yards....not happy with our style of D, but apparently the main guy wanted to play everything in front of us......it worked.....but tackling was sloppy...and that is what upsets me...but I also know that can be corrected.

LSU getting 366 yards is a lot for LSU and their style of football, and especially given the great field position (didn't have to drive far, so less yards obviously).

Just a note...when you throw it 70 times...that is high risk....honestly...there should have been a few more picks in the game that were just dropped. It is a high risk offense that gets yards....but at the end of the day....you lost by 4 td's.

I appreciate you being nice, but LSU didn't exactly pile up yards when in doubt....btw...RR catches the perfectly thrown ball and it's 34-7 and you guys quit...as it was...he gave you guys false hope by dropping in then missing a field goal.
