In a Houston Chronicle article this morning, Big 12 spokesperson Jason Cook was quoted as saying "The next big step to assure conference stability is to assist A&M in their departure". This coupled with the Big 12's new TV $'s restrictions means that the Aggies are the last Big 12 team to move for a while.

I was under that impression yesterday, but i am seeing this morning that Missouri is slow to agree with that and they still seem to be holding out. Just when i was thinking A&M/SEC were about to pull the trigger.

Jason Cook is an employee of A&M. Director of Marketing or some such. He's a very smart guy.

See y'all next year. S-E-C!

Mizzou is playing it smart. They know the moment the schools commit their tier 1 and 2 television to the conference for six years, Texas has zero incentive to negotiate with their new special committee. I doubt that Mizzou has enough influence to change this things in that conference or to get an invite to the SEC, but at least they are trying. OU, on the other hand, might as well start wearing "Bevo's Bitch" patches on their uniforms.

Mizzou doesn’t commit to Big 12, SEC still an option
quote:

“We either stick in the Big 12 because everything came about the way it needs to, the right way, with all the differences being settled in Missouri’s favor,” a university administrator who asked not to be identified told The Star on Thursday night. “But what are the odds of that happening?

“The other option is to join another conference and I believe that is something that we’re very open to.”

This drama has got to end. I'm sick of hanging on the whims of a bunch of feuding Big XIIers.

Believe and hope that the big conference north of him is on his mind when he says that.

If the Big Ten had *any* interest in Missouri, they would already be there. Remember that Mizzou started all of the mess last summer with their Big Ten talk.
