Problems with Cox whole home DVR system? (stuttering)

ever since last weekend I've been dealing with constant (as in about every 2-3 seconds) stuttering and pixelating image on the HD channels. It seems to be at its worst in the evenings.
In fact, it started last weekend just before the LSU game when my boxes started repeatedly rebooting themselves. The rebooting has only happened occassionally since. But the stuttering makes it unwatchable.
I have a technician coming out on Sunday but was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I've unplugged the boxes for a while with no luck. Any thoughts?

your wires are fricked up and probably not receiving the information fast enough. they will probably strip it and set them. might solve the problem.
