Maci's was one of my favorite places. Larry would take me into the kitchen to demonstrate some of his techniques. And Carol was a one-of-a-kind waitress.

Ate there almost every Friday night for years. Most of the staff had been there forever. Having Dixie serve you was like having your own waiter at Antoine's.

Hassan. Carol from Maci's worked for him there and later at Tomatoes off Essen Lane. Last I heard he had landed at the Belle of Baton Rouge.

Maci's was terrific - and I remember that waitress. She was great.
