[quote]I have to admit the aggy marketing spin has done a good job at getting the venom aimed at UT. The real truth is the aggys quit on a conference in which it pledged allegiance to. But don't ever let the truth get in the way of a good story. I've never really cared one way or the other about the ags--just not worthy of my time and energy--but their role in all of this was so calculated, so devious, so malicious, so without dignity and honor that whatever respect I used to be able to muster for them is totally gone. I hope they do well in the SEC. But they will never be happy. Sort of like the older gent who dumps his wife for the trophy babe, then realizes a few years later that the ditz can't hold a candle to the ex. Dumb arses!

So I guess the "BIG 9 1/2" is superior to the SEC?

Well to be honest they did do this, but they completely left out WHY they did it. They make it look like they just did it for poops and giggles which, as we know, isn't the case at all.

Said the same thing about Arky when we left the SWC.

how noble of UT fans

this whole paragraph is UT fans in a nutshell. they are better than everyone: no one is worth their time or energy. theyve been screwing everyone in the big 12 for years with the unequal revenue sharing b/c they could. they flexed their muscles into the longhorn network so they can have an even bigger advantage, but its still everyone else's fault, every time. and im by no means a aggy supporter. for a long time, ive considered UT m #2 team.

i got a quote from texags once and its perfect: "UT is like a middle school bully, they want half of your lunch money and all of your devotion"

When the officials from all 12 schools got together to vote over a yr ago, president Loftin "pledged allegiance" to the conference as it was (with Nebraska and Colorado). He is a very deliberate man and was very careful in stressing the position that if the Big 12 began to disintegrate, that all bets were off.

"Once upon a time there was a happy place called the SWC everything was peaceful...... Then one day the SWC was threatened by a evil force, the Saddam Hussein of the college football, the SEC... Once small group of money loving NON-Texans---"

Butt hurt was strong back then.

and its funny the quote in the OP references the spin machine. UT is the king of spinning things their way to make themselves the victim or price who saved everyones arse(last summer).

i was kinda excited this realignment thing got restarted, but now, i just want it to be over. im tired of hearing the lies, the misinformation, the legal threats, and the bullshite. im tired of teams who dont belong among the football powerhouses, being butt hurt theyre about to be excluded-- looking at you, baylor. just wake me up when were at 4 conferences of 16....

UT arrogance is just unbelievable. May have salvaged ONE year, but their fate is inevitable. No way they can coexist with partners constantly looking over their shoulders. When the LHN fails as currently conceived, they MAY begin to learn humility. Key word - MAY.

I promise you the new spin we will hear is that UT actually saved the existence of the Big 12 with their firm stance on the LHN.

I wonder why Texas almost NEVER ever schedules a regular season game with any of these "lesser" SEC teams?

the funny thing is they have zero interest in the SEC. not b/c their afraid of the competition- theyd do fine- maybe 9 win seasons instead of 10, but b/c they dont want to be in a place with equal footing. they cringe that vandy has the same say as florida. that revenue is split equally. you see, theyve always been able to negotiate their terms, and it would never fly in the SEC.

i hope they enjoy being independent....

I was raised to hate them and the majority of my life we have been in the SEC playing them only a handful of times...

I love how they say it as if it's the worst thing you could possibly be. To them, I think it is, though.

One thing we already have in common with our new Ark. brethren is a total understanding of what texas is. Arkansas fans know exactly why we left and now most of the country has a pretty good understanding as well. Certainly SEC teams "get it". From what I have seen here I know LSU fans see the truth.
