Exactly what I'm wondering....why punt?
You're essentially giving up on the game and throwing in the white flag by punting. This isn't college, margin of victory/loss won't matter when getting into the playoffs.

Doesn't margin of victory factor into the tiebreaker if conf records, head to head, and overall records are equal?

thats a fricking pathetic mentality to give to your team. i hope the rams don't win another game all season long.. and they probably won't.
you don't give up right there. there's still 1 minute and a half.. if u get a score quick score, there is still a chance to onside. yes it's a long shot.. but just hail mary there. don't give up.
