My Prediction For Realignment

IMO the biggest winner from realignment is clearly the Pac 16. No other conference can match their audience share, alumni base, operating revenue, money, endowment, reach, or influence. The ACC is the next best winner primarily due to their basketball, already the best in the country, getting even better and the fulfillment of their long sought goal of staging the country's best basketball tournament on the biggest stage: Madison Square Garden. The SEC and Big Ten more or less stay the same but in the grand scheme fail to match the gains of the Pac 16. A new conference is cobbled together with the remnants of the Big East and the Big 12. The other conferences largely remain the same; this shuffle occurs among the top teams in football and barely effects the lower tier.

Good prediction. For some reason I see the BIG also picking up KU along with Mizzou. But with Rutgers they'd be adding a good market to go along with the STL and KC market if they are expanding for that reason.

SEC basketball Tourney.......what about a place like FedEx Forum in Memphis? Neutral location that's a professional arena

FedEx Forum is nice, I agree. However, so is Philips Arena/GA Dome and Atlanta is a bigger stage than Memphis.

I like this post. I think its a good guess. Mo fits big ten not sec

Exactly, the situation is so fluid that the best you can do is make an educated guess.
Mizzou and Rutgers will fit nicely in the Big Ten. With these two teams, the Big Ten adds two huge markets: St. Louis/Missouri and New York/New Jersey. Rutgers has that academic reputation and quality that the Big Ten constantly harps on about and Mizzou will provide nice rivalries with Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois.
Come to think of it, the Big Ten may in fact do better in realignment than the SEC. The SEC may come out of realignment the worst of the 4 super conferences.

Missouri vs Illinois, Missouri vs Minnesota, Missouri vs Iowa, etc sounds better than Missouri vs Alabama, Missouri vs Mississippi State, Missouri vs Georgia.lol. Geography makes a BIG difference.

I could be wrong but I still don't see Texas to the Pac 12/16.

Drunk,
I still think Texas will eventually end up in B1G.

I don't think the ACC would take South Florida. Pretty good job otherwise.

I think Missouri has a better shot at the SEC than UWV

Yea, South Florida was probably the biggest stretch for me. In spite of their moderate success on the field, South Florida is still basically a large commuter school that lacks a traditional college feel...not to mention its own stadium. It was founded in the mid 1960s; that means people in their early 60s are the oldest alumni on record.
Still, my guess for the ACC adding them was grounded in the facts that the ACC has openly stated it is discussing adding more schools, there is a good chance that UConn will be the 15th school (due to the powerful influence of the strong basketball schools lobbying for UConn's admittance), and the need to add a 16th school for balance. I could also see Rutgers being a good guess but I believe UConn being a basketball powerhouse means they have the inside shot.
