Big 12 North
TCU
West Virginia
Mizzou
Kansas
Kansas State
Iowa State

Big 12 South
Texas
Texas Tech
Baylor
Tulane
South Florida
Louisville

Texas works to keep yearly games against Oklahoma and Texas A&M...and maybe another marquee OOC team.

They get to keep their precious LHN money...they win lots of games, and don't screw all the lesser Big 12 teams.

This conference would keep the automatic bid to BCS game.

Longhorn fans...what is the issue with this? This would be on par with the former SWC. You get to keep your power and money...isn't that what this is really all about?

It was already pretty diluted. OU and OSU were the only two teams right now keeping it's head above water.

I also think they would have to pull BYU and/or Boise into the conference to make them competitive.

I think you have to have 12 teams to have divisions. But I also thought you had to have 12 teams to call your conference the Big 12 so what do I know?

I'm going strictly off of FB only, which the Big East never was.

From what I have heard they don't want SMU, TCU and UH in the conference. They feel like they already have those tv markets (Houston and Dallas) and don't want to share potential recruits with these schools... like the 80's and 90's of the old SWC.

yes, but the Big East has an automatic bid to a BCS game...so, if the Big East is the measuring stick, I think this new Big 12 would be on par...

by the way, I added BYU and Tulane to the mix...check it out.

true, but Texas can only sign so many kids per year...Texas is a huge state...there is plenty of talent to go around.

If Oklahoma leaves Mizzou would join the Big East rather than stay in a conference with Texas. People forget Mizzou is one of the schools along with Nebraska and Colorado pissed at the Texas Schools.

Which is a complete joke.

It would be better than the current Big East, but that's not saying much. At some point the BCS/NCAA is going to have to look at that auto qualifier for the Big East.

Sorry, GB...Tulane is a stretch, but it does get the Big 12 into Louisiana.

IMO boise has to be in that conference as well, but its completely doable.

add boise in the north, move tcu to the south, eliminate tulane

yes...but ND won't help it for football, but ND's smaller sports could be part of the revamped Big 12.
