Les Miles' obligation is to what's best for the team, not for Lee or JJ. Right now, the team is doing well and responding well to Lee. If JL was screwing up, then considering a change would be justified.

Since he is not, there is no justification for pulling him.

I tend to agree that the "roll with it" factor should play into any decision; Lee is doing well right now. But I can guarantee you that we will happen upon a close game at some point this year. Knowing this, the coach is obligated to weigh the pros and cons of a disruption early on against the cost of not having your best player in a position to succeed once we meet the big dogs in the conference later on this year.

Having seen Lee do well over the last few weeks, I can't say emphatically that JJ is the better option. The fact that he was starting would suggest that the coaches felt that way, however.

I'm glad we can have this discussion civilly for once.
