I don't understand why their name has been thrown out there.

New markets, basketball, mediocre football. No worse than middle of the road SEC teams with new markets.

If SEC decides to go to 16 teams and you eliminate ACC schools bc of the 20 million dollar buyout. Doesn't leave a whole lot of other options to go along with aTm and WVU

SEC football isn't played in the snow. Leave that crap to the Big 10. I don't care about new markets, SEC football carries itself. We don't need to go after mediocre programs.

1) New rival for Arky once LSU and A&M reengage.
2) KC and StL TV markets (not slouches)
3) Balance for teh two schools we're adding to the East.
4) Decent hoops and baseball, chance for all three major sports to improve.
5) No threat to any current member (new state)

St. Louis and Missouri. The more relevant question might be what would West Virginia bring to the SEC (other than a bunch of coal miners and their cousins)??

Oh and also, Mizzou is a member of AAU. Look it up to find out what it means.

Funny how most people forget KC. The main and largest part of KC is in Missouri. When you see KC on TV or where the NFL team is, its Missouri. So you get two major TV markets (both larger than any city in LA, MS, AR, AL, SC, or KY, maybe TN as well)

I cant remember who, but I read a great article a few days ago online from a reporter in Missouri about Mizzou joining the SEC.

They said that they have been to almost every SEC venue/city and that they think Mizzou would be an outsider and doesnt fit the mold. They said that St Louis and KC are huge pro sports towns and the Chiefs and Cardinals run the state and college football is 3rd or 4th fiddle in the state.

Other than a decent academic school, Mizzou doesnt move the needle nationally and cant imagine them being anything more than another Kentucky or Vanderbilt.

Meanwhile, WVA doesn't have any pro teams.

The reporter is right. But Mizzou have a winning all-time record against the SEC. They've also recently beat the SEC the last 3 times they played them, Ole Miss 2x and Arkansas once. Doubt if all these SEC teams would just run over Mizzou.

In basketball they'd compete along with Florida, Arkansas, and Kentucky. I'd rank them 4-5th in the SEC. But I don't think Mizzou is itching to join the SEC, tougher and plus the travel. They'd be a perfect fit for the BIG. I'm sure that's where they are headed if the Pac 12 pick up 4 Big 12 South teams. The BIG will make a move on Missouri.

The Chiefs suck right now, but when they WIN Arrowhead is easily one of the Loudest stadiums in the NFL. Plus add in the Money KC residents put into Arrowhead and Kauffman stadium, fans in Missouri love their pro sports teams no matter what the record is. Take a tour of the New Arrowhead it ranks up there with a lot of NEW stadiums, suits are NICE , new standing room section under the new Press Box, "Hall of honer/fame" section on the lower level. TV screens on the outside of the stadium on all four entrances.

Very nice stadium. All of this funded by a vote with Jackson County residents when the voted for renovations during the Chiefs down years. You don't find many fans in other cities funding TWO(Arrowhead and Kauffman) $250-300+ Million renovations when both teams sucks. But they did vote no for the rolling roof to cover both stadiums, that would have been tight.

Hell then go to STL, New baseball Stadium, KC also have a brand new basketball arena because they want a pro Hockey or NBA team. Yeah they love pro sports in Missouri and the people HAVE money to fund projects. That's why the SEC would love the KC and STL markets, MONEY.
