So ND is going to give up their NBC TV contract that goes through 2015?

And LHN would quit or change 2014......

Not happening. Texas on the other hand I could see trying to get into the Big 10

Imagine NU disdain!!! Disgust with Texas is big part of move to B1G!!!

What bullshite.
And this part:
I like how a NW fan acts that the Big 10 "might be willing to listen" to accepting UT and ND. If there was any truth to this, the initial mood of the Big 10 would involve asking for a towel and a new pair of underwear.
And this part:

The initial mood at the Big Ten to the terms provided by the two schools is "receptive."

I have no idea if this guy is credible, but I believe it's plausible, except TTech is fricked in this scenario. No way PAC takes them without TX.

See, the problem with this is that Texas would have to apply. Notre Dame on the other hand, well they just have to tell the Big 10 they are ready to join. They don't have to ask anything.

here's why that is bullshite:
so, ESPN is going to just walk away after 2 years and allow Fox Sports or NBC in?
this invalidates the entire premise
quote:
The Longhorn Network would remain independent until approximately 2014, at which point the network would become a part of an expanded Big Ten Network (specifically referred to as "BTN2"), likely either in partnership with Fox, NBC, or less likely ABC

No one wants Texas in the Big 10 more than me but why trust a random guy from a NW board?

Didn't that same guy report A&M to the Big Ten like a month ago? I know it came from the NW Rivals board.

In Chip Brown's article this morning, he says that Texas to the Big 10 is being discussed and that Texas wouldn't get a dime from the Big 10 network. Texas would just put all of its home games on the LHN. I guess that would need to get about $40 - $45 million a year from ESPN just for football TV revenue for that to work.
It sounds weird but if the #s make sense and Texas gets to keep the LHN, what the hell......

I think it would be badass. I think it would be better for Texas than the Pac 12.

I'm sure Nebraska would love to be back with Texas in a conference.
Plus there are a lot of Big 10 schools that resent Notre Dame just as much

I'm sure Nebraska would be annoyed, but Texas would be just another team in the Big Ten (my husband's a Mich grad, so I follow the Big Ten closely). Texas = Illinois = Michigan. They'd have nothing to worry about. Delany provides strong leadership and protects all of his schools (embarrassing when he blasted UM and tOSU at media day for bringing shame on the Big Ten with their infractions, but everyone's equal and both should have been called out).
