Would it be better to have four 18 team conferences instead of 16?

It'd get pretty much all the decent teams in. You could play an 8 game divison schedule plus a rivalry inter conference game and a rotating game. And still play 2 out of conference games. Then if you win playoff time

That's effectively having 8 conferences of 9 teams.

This whole idea of a 4 16 team superconferences is just a pipe dream I think. There is a good chance the PAC can get to 16. There is a decent chance the SEC could get to 16 (but I think they'll stop at 14). There is about no chance that the Big10 will move to 16 IMO, and then you'd need the BigEast and ACC to figure something out and merge, which there isn't a chance in hell of that happening any time soon.
So while this notion of 4 16 team (or 18 or whatever) superconferences is fun to speculate about, there isn't a chance in hell it happens any time soon if ever.

no actually 24 and i like the bcs. I just dont want a nfl version 2 in cfb. Id rather a no loss or 1 loss champ vs the chance of some 4 loss team winning a nc.
also super conferences will basically kill all good ooc games. I like some variety in teams we play. Super conferences are going to kill that.
plus cfb aint broke so no reason to fix it.

Actually 20 would be better. That would give each division 5 teams.
