I built one using pretty much the same stuff last year. Only difference is that I have a piece of conduit in the front and back going across the the boat. On that piece I have some jaws to place the blind in. Did that because I didnt want any pieces on the floor of the boat.

I considered that design but had some concerns about its structural integrity. Did you have any problems with bending or flexing?
