Kragthorpe & Lee

A silver lining in all of this (and I'm not suggesting it overcomes the travesty of justice perpetuated today by BRPD) is that this gives Kragthorpe an opportunity to really do something special. My heart has ached for him and his family ever since he heard the diagnosis. And at some point (hopefully many years from now) his condition will sadly be debilitating.
Having had the highs and lows in his coaching career, I am sure he was looking forward to a bit of redemption himself several months ago. And then the doctor called with bad news. I know he has been working with both of these guys as QBs, trying to take them to the next level. But it strikes me as extra special if Kragthorpe can wield his magic just one more time with the willing pupil that is Jarrett Lee.
You know the talking heads are all going to take us down a few pegs and express skepticism of Lee. Their remembrance of Lee is stuck in 2008 (just like some rantards). If Lee comes out and has a successful season, it will be largely due to Kragthorpe and I certainly hope his gets a lot of the credit.
It is fitting in a way. Kragthorpe and Lee are both very skilled at what they do, but for various reasons (some self-inflicted, some just bad luck and a bad situation) they have had a string of truly star-crossed years.
Both of them know that time is running out. Here's to seeing them both make this season one of redemption and one for the ages.

Name's not Matt. We need to have it changed.

IF it works out, it could be a movie script, no doubt.
The coach who DIDN'T go to his alma mater.
The OC with Parkinson's.
The much-maligned QB who comes back for one more attempt at redemption.
Great story lines, but then again, LSU always has great story lines.
IF it works out, it will be great. IF not, no one will remember. That's how it goes.

As long as it takes for spelling nazis to realize "spelt" isn't interchangeable with "spelled"...

if JL leads this team to Atlanta and a BCS bowl, his story will indeed be the #1 topic of the sports media doing the games. and what a story it will be. i think it would be great for him, his family and the LSU family and fans. in fact, if he just has a good year i will be damn proud of him; he has repped LSU with class and dignity.

Good post. Ignore the clowns who are incapable of reading more than two sentences.

I have always been a Lee supporter, but pulled for JJ when he was the starter as well. I am looking forward to Lee getting his shot and I hope he makes the most out of them. This is a tough time for LSU football and it is hard to find a bright spot, but this could be it. I hope Lee and Kragthorpe combine to have an offensive explosion this year and I hope that JJ et al get through all of this.

All of his team mates can look at Lee to see what a real man is.
He has the opportunity to be remembered as one of LSUs all time greats for his character, courage and commitment.

Well said, Lee has been a stand up guy through all that has happened to him. Never hanging his head and being a team leader and a man. I would love to have a team of players with the character of Jarrett Lee.

And the arm and ability to read defenses like Tom Brady.
