A lot of crap on here lately about the BRPD. They're under pressure, and who knows, maybe they've made some mistakes. Let's not forget that these guys (and gals)volunteered to receive shitty pay to risk their lives to protect the citizens of Baton Rouge.
TIA

I used to think like you until I had a few run ins with police officers. I don't trust any of them.

No kiddin. Sign me up
Maybe after they get done with their circle jerk of a press conference, they can get back to keeping us safe from the real problems that their checkpoints keep at bay. I haven't felt safe in a while cause I know they have been busy with this.
Oh wait, no they haven't. We still have our bullshite checkpoints and unsolved murders.
I agree with the OP great job BRPD! Keep it up, the nation is jealous over the job you do here.

Who gives a crap about the police officers? They did their job.
I haven't seen/given two shits about the BRPD.
It's all on those involved.

OK smartass () I'll rephrase: they agree to accept a crappy paycheck.....
No, they're relegated to this work because this is what their educational background brought them. Nothing more.

yeah thanks for the $120 ticket for a broken license plate light, without a warning...

The vast majority of cops are good people. But this incident was handled poorly.
This was a bar fight between people none of whom are innocent.
Instead, BRPD, playing for the cameras, had to go ruin two people's lives by charging them with a felony.
Protect and serve my arse.

The OP had me worried, but reading the responses, I just have one thing to say: "I love you, man."

Excellent benefits, great job security, union protection, good salary.
You are a liar and you know it.

Lumberjacks and fisherman have more dangerous jobs than cops.
Cops are horrible human beings.
