Thank God we have Joe Alleva

You know, because when it comes to handling a scandal, Alleva has a fantastic track record. (sarcasm)
I met a bunch of Duke alums and when I told them I was an LSU grad they said "You guys took our AD that everybody hated. Why the hell did you guys hire him?"
They then proceeded to chat about how incompetent Alleva was at Duke, that his only qualification was his friendship with Coach K, and everyone at Duke thought he was a douchebag. When people think you're a douche at Duke, you have reached the upper-echelon of douchebaggery.
He pretty much fired the lacrosse coach with as much evidence of player guilt as there is of LSU players now.
I have absolutely no confidence this situation will be resolved in a smooth fashion. Alleva will go on a witch hunt to cover his arse.

Congrats on getting into UVA Law! I've known some very qualified applicants get rejected, and it's a very big accomplishment. Enjoy it and I hope you adopt UVA as your own along with LSU!

He's going to be the AD and allow the football coach to do his job. Are we out of people to blame before anything ever happens and we're resorting to the athletic department people?

Yep, it's the same exact situation. The lacrosse team at Duke paid their head coach 4 million dollars and it single-handedly kept the department afloat. It also involved allegations of rape, strippers, etc. and so much national media traction that this Libya stuff looks tame.

the same case that got the DA disbarred?
i hope alleva keeps his arse out of this and let miles do his job, but its not a given. not with his history.

Once again. The situations are completely different. I'm sure the guy has learned something in an event that never happens to an AD, but I guess he'll just continue to take the reigns, throw the team under the bus, and act exactly like he did in a situation that is factually dissimilar to the present situation.
