Im not trying to argue with you here because I dont think our viewpoints are too far apart. Just like you (and i think most LSU fans) dont want to spread rumors. I think the main difference is this so called "self control" that you speak of.

Even this so called "good info" is usually flawed. Go back and read most of the early media reports on the incident. Most contradict each other because they were reporting rumor. All that you hear about this incident (at this point) is second hand info since the players nor the victims are talking to the public for the most part. WWL, WBRZ, etc are reporting hearsay just like Nico.

The reason I am more likely to put up with, and be interested in hearing what he had/has to say is because for the most part his info does not involve the case, but the football team. (Yes he mentioned what the charges "would be", but thats not the part i was interested in.) I found the talk of a 2 game suspension interesting since it is very plausible imho.

Like i said i understand and appreciate where you are coming from, but i guess your a better man than me. I cant help but look for any news (even gossip) about this incident. If I thought there was a place to go where i could filter out all of the crap and only get real info i would go there...but i have not found that place yet so tigerdroppings will have to do.

Nah...like I said earlier, I've been involved in something like this before with LSU and I'm very hesitant as a fan to even remotely make a situation worse again.

I'll put it this way...if I knew anything about this situation (I don't) I wouldn't post it here unless I was able to say who I am and where the info came from...and probably not even. the fact that we are all curious is really not enough reason to circumvent the process here as far as I'm concerned. Hell...I'm curious too! I'm as invested in LSU as the rest here...but I'm also invested in the long term prospects of the program, and I really think I'm doing it a disservice if I start repeated unfounded rumors.

So for my part, when I have people call me about this (and I have on several occasions this weekend) I tell them what I've said here...calm down and wait it out. We'll all know as much as we'll ever know probably by the end of this week...until then, just chill.

Are you capable of not repeating it, or making shite up to add to it? That's all the guy is talking about doing. Just don't say anything unless you absolutely KNOW EVERYTHING about the situation and can give full, complete and verified information. Spreading anything else is just using incomplete or unverified information to smear other people -- and perhaps undeservedly -- for your own personal aggrandizement.
