Fitzmorris is not the best barometer for measuring how many restaurants are in New Orleans. Fitzmorris is, however, the best barometer for measuring the number of restaurants insular New Orleanians, who are quick to defend the culinary culture of NOLA, count as "real" restaurants.

As I said above, Riverbend has most of the restaurants you might think should be within Carrollton but are not listed.

56 for Carrollton/Riverbend is Fitzmorris' number. Does that seem reasonable to you?

The TD dining guide has 53 listed in Carrolton/University area...

it is for places near Carrollton, between expressway and St. Charles...and places between Audubon Park/Tulane and river road.
