Thoughts from an Aggie...long but please read.

Hey SEC, just wanted to say TD is great. I love TexAgs but the some guys on there can be retarded. Most are just way over-the-top in reactions. We start multiple threads for everything (so damn annoying). We have select SEC fans pumping sunshine up our arse, making some believe that this move is popular with SEC fans.
Next point, the average SEC people DON'T want us. We get it. Told a UTENN buddy we might go to the SEC, the first words out of his mouth "we don't want y'all!." I get it. He wasn't trying to be mean or say we're inferior, but SEC fans are traditionalists. They like it the way it is, which is understandable.(i.e. Arkansas...20 years later, do y'all like them yet?)
Having said that, I believe this potential move brings well-known mutual benefits. No need to talk in circles about it(see my recruiting reply in cowherd thread). I want the SEC move to happen. I think we have a chance to fit in well...Arkansas and LSU have the possibility to reestablish a good rivalry, not saying it will happen and will probably feel forced for awhile, I'm sure. But we have history, I believe an instant connection can be made w/ Miss. State and Auburn, which are similar schools IMO. Of course, no certainty. You can argue an Alabama connection with coaches, its pretty weak though.
Let me just say that the Big12 sucks! The experiment between the Big8 and SWC has failed in many respects, and its continuing to fail. The power in the Big12 was in the south division. NU lost a lot of its power joining the BIG12 because of schools like ut and ou running the show. Maybe, had OU been in the north it might have been different. But ut and ou have run the conference, no question. Nowadays, the conference has become a selfish free for all. It's just not a healthy way to do things, and the LHN was the epitome of this. There's no conference loyalty or respect like the SEC, no one roots for other BIG12 rivals in bowl games. It's sad really, the B12 could have been a powerhouse. I know we haven't been really relevant in football, but it really was lack of facilities with Slocum, and fran destroying the program(you're welcome Alabama). Byrne has been a beast for us though.
LET ME BE CLEAR, the desire for the SEC is about stability and a conference that works together. Some Aggies do have an inferiority complex to ut. But most Aggies are frustrated with them because we consistently are on par with them or out perform them in both athletics and academics(I can provide stats but this post is long enough), so it's very frustrating when ut gets twice the funding when our school is more efficient with funds. I'm not jealous of ut by no means, I'm very proud of being an aggie(all aggies are). The LHN was a great business deal/oppurtunity for ut, good for them. But they aren't wielding their power respectfully, and this network doesn't allow for a conference network with ut. Finally, Dan Beebe is the worst commissioner in CFB. He won't provide a conf. network and he can't get schools to stay, much less believe in the B12. Such a weak leader, and Dodds literally runs the conference.
Sorry this is so long, just trying to clear issues up. Thanks and looking forward to seeing whatever happens.

You might want to edit with some paragraph breaks so it will be easier to read. Just saying.

Disagree. Most fans I talk to would love A&M in the SEC.
Of course, you're going to hear trash talk...that's what SEC fans do, that's what they know. At the end of the day, though, many SEC fans including myself are thrilled about the addition of A&M.
Also, Most people in general are for anything that hurts the Texas Longhorns. And while A&M to the SEC in and of itself is certainly no "crippling blow" to the the Texas Longhorns , I think most people realize that A&M to the SEC is good for A&M, which by default is bad for Texas.

You're really hurting my feelings
I get y'all have the same issues as texags, but not to the same degree.
And from everything I've heard the "average SEC fan" doesn't want it. I think forum posters are a pretty select sample.

also, i think you may be off on the SEC fans.. i bet it is a small majority that would like to have TAMU
i dont think it would feel forced either. Arkansas and LSU already feel like a rival of TAMU.. Bama would be there. And it wouldnt take long for Ole Miss, MSU and Auburn to get heated.

Nope, but you'll take their place as the odd man out.

I thought this was funny.

I disagree.
The coaching history at both Bama and State makes a potential matchup between them and A&M very intriguing.
Every time Bama and A&M played, ESPN or CBS would feel required to make reference to Bear Bryant, Coach Fran, Stallings, etc.

I want TAMU. I said earlier my first trip to Baton Rouge and on the LSU campus was in 1995 the same day LSU was in College Station playing you guys. I'm actually pulling for TAMU to beat Arkansas, whip the hell out of Texas, and beat OU this year. Then hopefully jump to the SEC next year.

Alabama connection
We've played like 5 times? along time ago. I'm not saying its not there but I think its overstated. We don't have the same kind of playing history like w/ LSU/Arky

Everthing I've heard from SEC friends, SEC personalities(finebaum, some birmingham writer) states otherwise. The birmingham writer (dont know his name) stated the "85%" of SEC fans are against it.

i dont think you understand Bama fans.. they will hate you for the simple fact that Bear coached at TAMU first
and you will hate them because they are from Alabama

I love having Arkansas considering they're not far away from me and I can see LSU play them in basketball and baseball when they come up to F'Ville. We have a lot of Hog fans and people from Arkansas coming up to SWMO so it feels good passing by Hog fans on hwy 71 and I-44 with my LSU TAF sticker and LSU decal on the car.
