Montgomery | Adams | Freak | Mingo

Wide splits on O would have me salivating for this lineup.

I think we need to make sure and fill holes in the middle with Oregons run game. I think putting DE's in there who are use to trying to get through to the backfield would open up too many holes in the middle.

The only cool thing about the Express is its name. DE types do not have the arse or the leverage to plug the middle of a line. I am much more in favor of two massive guys in the middle shutting down the line and forcing run plays to the outside, where our DEs and Linebackers and Tyrann Mathieu can feast.

Both of the ends in the link were big guys. Franciois was over 280 and Jackson was 290 plus.

Collectively, that group is smaller than Bama's middle 4. I don't think it would be a good idea.

It's not like I replaced all 4 guys. That was one substitution - Mingo in, Brockers out.

I just think the concept of going for speed in the middle like express was ONLY for passing downs. Trying to use it against a running team doesnt make sense.

Question is would you be willing to go with that line for a full possession? Oregon won't sub so the only way you'll be able to get those guys off the field will be to call time out or fake an injury to get a time out.

That's the thing that scares me about Oregon's offense, and your pernt is well made.

LSU is good at faking injuries to stop the clock. Tried to find a video of it, but all I could find was Oregon fans bitching about Cal faking an injury against them.

That was JJ pouting, not faking an injury.

I think faking injuries at the end of a game is bs, however.....

When one team's strategy is to run plays as quickly as possible, as part of their game plan, then faking an injury or two (or four) to slow things down, as part of a game plan......I think I'm ok with it.

EDIT: especially since it's us.

I was thinking of Flynn or Mauck or both doing it at one point or another.
