It's obvious ESPN hates this possibility. That's why they took things out of context yesterday and plastered "SEC says no to A&M" all over their airwaves yesterday.

people are finally catching onto the ESPN agenda machine. i'm not saying this article is true, but the fact remains, is they are a corporation and only care about increasing revenue

I hear the same thing on the radio. People parroting that same exact thing. Its as if these people don't have a brain to think for themselves or the ability to read and comprehend the written word.

Agreed.
It still surprises me when people actually try to equate them to real journalism - whatever that is these days.

Well in that case I guess I'll have to read it

Is the SEC still obligated to negotiate first with their existing TV partners if/when it expands to 14/16, or is it a contract bidding free for all at that point?

So the SEC is now worried that it could end up in a large lawsuit featuring the Big 12, the SEC, and ESPN over A&M's departure.

Dan Patrick is still the best in the business, and he was giving texas a&m props. Then again he works for NBC now.

IMO ESPN has been mucking up shitte for awhile now
All you have to do is look at the "lead" on that fricking ticker right now:
A&M president says school may remain in Big 12
I mean seriously? that's what they took from all said today?

That's some weak sauce.

If I only got info from ESPN I'd think A&M to the SEC was dead with that "lead story"

Slive has stated that there are periodic look-ins scheduled in the existing contract where the SEC and ESPN compare the contract with other contracts signed since.
The SEC was already going to ask for more money, since it is now third behind the Pac 12 and Big Ten in money/per school.
Adding more teams would just make for more money.

If aTm leaves the conference, becoming independent, the Big 12 contract they have is void. If aTm has not joined another conference it would appear that ESPN is free to negotiate a better deal if they like. Why would they be obligated to keep paying the same money? I am sure they would prefer for everything to remain the same, but that's the risk you take when your in bed with both conferences. From this read the only thing that aTm has to worry about is the Fox contract what ever that is.
