Not sure he is an SEC talent...... He's not overly tall and isn't as quick as players his height.....

Kid is definetly not SEC ready.

I watched him play this summer at a couple of team camps. He's decent and all, but not major D1 in my opinion.

Plus, attitude toward the game is in need of an overhaul.

Well, that could be why he doesn't have an offer from LSU. I haven't personally seen him play. He is a four star and has on offer from Oklahoma State, but it appears Butch Pierre offers every Louisiana player a scholarship that plays varsity basketball.

Tigerbait article about Morgan's Commitment

quote:

While LSU had shown interest over the course of the last year where Morgan more than doubled his scoring average over his sophomore season, Scott was in attendance when Morgan's Louisiana Dynasty AAU team made stops in Indiana, Nevada, Mississippi and Texas for competition.

The addition of Morgan turned out to be a rainbow amongst the recent storm clouds.

"I tried to make it that way," Morgan said. "When I talked to him tonight I told him I was ready to stay home and be a Tiger. I think I made him do a back flip.

"I congratulate Javan and Ricardo on their decisions but I'm also going to try and get them to come back down there at some point," Morgan said. "I wish them the best of luck in the future but I'm still going to come in and do my part the best that I can."

Morgan credited the entire LSU staff, especially his lead recruiter Brent Scott, for making him feel comfortable and welcomed.

quote:

"He (Scott) really makes me feel comfortable but actually the whole staff does," Morgan said. "They made me feel a part of their family already and I've only been there a couple of times before.

Thank God for some good Bball news He'll be a solid player for LSU. Two more recruits like him and LSU might have a decent team in two years.

IMO we need to take as many highly rated kids as possible to have a highly ranked class to create some buzz for the program. Dont worry about taking two SGs just take as many 4 star guys as possible

this....bigtime. we need guys who can handle, create and stop and pop. trent will mandate d, hustle, grades and citizenship. bottom line....we need another solid class to build on.

Kid has a weak offer list

UTEP

Seems like a 4 star would have more offers.

What are you reading/smoking...

Here's what I see on Rivals...

Boston College None Offered None
Georgia Tech None Offered None
Missouri None Offered None
Oklahoma None Offered None

Notes from recruiting chat with Rivals analyst Jerry Myer:

quote:

Comment From Bonnie n EarlBonnie n Earl: ]
LSUgetting Malik Morgan? Did anyone else even have a chance?

quote:

jerry: Don't think they did on Morgan. Mom played volleyball at LSU and he lives near school and has grown up a fan.

Otherwise, he would have received more recruiting attention.

No big news, but kind of interesting. I thought he had a nice offer list, but Meyer is saying it would have been even better if schools didn't think he was a heavy lean to LSU.

The word is that him and Ricardo are very good friends. Not over till that paper is signed.
