"It was hard for me to swallow because I was not as talented and I had to work harder," Rice said. "To see a guy with that much talent not give it 100 percent, it was almost like a little slap in the face. But Randy was Randy." [...]
"He could have been one of the greatest if he had worked just a little bit harder. [...] I don't think he wanted to give it 100 percent. You never knew what you were going to get with Randy. Sometimes you'd get the unbelievable guy, the amazing guy. Other times you'd get the guy that took a couple plays off."

I was a Randy Moss fan because he was fun to watch when he was on his A game, but to have that much talent and use it just enough to be a threat is a slap in the face of anyone who would kill to have his talent.

Jerry Rice getting a job in broadcasting is a slap in the face to everyone who actually WORKED to be a broadcaster

Moss could have been the best ever if he wanted.

It's Randy Moss's life, why does Jerry Rice care?

He was one of the greatest. Rice disagrees?

No doubt about it which is why I don't understand why he didn't put in the effort.

For all we know, he might not even like the game so he did just enough to get paid, but if you are in that position, why not maximize it?

Rice knows Randy was a threat...he should be happy Moss half-assed it part of his career...otherwise people would say Moss was the best ever.

People are acting as if he isn't in the top five in just about every receiving category...

I don't see a problem with Rice's comments, its not like he is making up stuff.

Rice is the Curt Schilling of Pro Football.

Nobody workes as hard as he did to get where he did, he was the only one who "did it the right way"....frick him and his sanctimonious bullshite. I, for one, am glad he was turned down as the new WR coach for LSU.

I say Moss is clearly the second best ever. Could have been the best, but Rice is.

Hey dumbass, half the broadcasters are former players/coaches.

And the ones who arent merely got there b/c they have connections

As Revis said, Moss is a "slouch"

99% of the people on this planet wouldnt be motivated if they were Randy Moss.

roll out of bed, drink a coke, eat some candy, dominate the corner if I feel like it, and then return to my life of luxury/relaxation.

id be watching film on Friday night personally.

I get it from Rices' perspective, but he shouldnt have said anything

I think he is saying that with hard work there is no telling where Moss could be especially if he has done what he has mostly on pure talent alone.

Jerry got a degree in broadcasting?

Nope

Jerry taking a job from someone who actually worked at perfecting their craft is a slap in the face to those who put forth that effort....

If Jerry can share his opinion on Randy Moss the former NFL player, why can't I share my opinion on Jerry Rice the Broadcaster?

Those who are defending Moss in this thread also love JR and Keiland Williams over Flynn and Hester.
