Funny how in those days a team could only be on tv two times a year max in a given season, yet the two games that LSU was on TV that year were home games against Alabama and Notre Dame and they each were in primetime on ABC.

This game was the first 'Prime time in living color' game in the nation.

I was too ... one of the most "electric" games I've ever attended in Tiger Stadium.

notice how many people in the stands were wearing coat and tie...how times have changed!....

My brother and I had seats in the South End Zone. What a great game to attend.

Actually LSU had played Alabama two weeks earlier at home at night on ABC.
The first college game in prime time "in color" was two years earlier in Birmingham in the famous Ole Miss-Alabama game when Ala won 33-32 with Archie having over 400 total yards.

Texas and Alabama played the 1965 Orange Bowl in prime time and in color on NBC.

Field looked great.
#24 was Art Cantrelle runnin' hard.
#32 was Chris Dantin?

On my official recruiting visit to LSU that night. Roomed with Brad Davis. They pulled us into the tunnel to protect us when the fans stormed the field. Crazy locker room after the game, fraternity parties, athletic dorm settled down about daylight. Great game, great night.

What a great game!! It ranks right up there with my all time favorites. Jones to Hamilton!!! Tommy Casanova with the interception! What memories.
