Now if a wine store will do 4% off and the 10% discount, that is awesome, but I'd imagine they wont be doing that. Let me check with Joe at Carte des vins and get back to this topic.
Wouldn't it be business as usual for the retailer? The only difference is that they won't be collecting the 4% state sales tax to pass along to the Great State.
ETA: And I do plan on stocking up on beer and wine.

I think it is pretty much retailers take off 4%. Could be wrong but dont think businesses or tax entities would want to go through a month's receipts and subtract out 4% from one particular weekend's totals.
Know when we pay sales tax it is just a simple calculation of monthly sales numbers times amount. Again could be wrong, was always just under the impression that was they way it was handled.

Seriously, do y'all really? If you buy $300 worth of wine, you will save $12. You'd be better off just waiting for a wine sell.

Hen you are right.
No need to adjust normal prices and sales discounts since the removal of sales tax doesn't hurt the store in any way. It will bring a bit more business but not enough for a store to adjust their pricing model for one day.
The only products that will be flexible in pricing are those that are around the $2500 tax break limit.
