Helmut Hut says we got yellow in 1956 ESPN launched in 1979 It also says Dietzel picked it and it is Green Bay yellow

Wouldn't doubt that, peter.

Just saying and if we can recell, that the yellow has been more predominant in later years due to TV and marketing. Draws attention and is unique with the white jerseys, etc. While Some teams switch it up a lot for attention...tradition but more importantly certain colors and branding in marketing serve a huge purpose....
