I remember a thread on the old Geaux board by players who played for Curley. It was ugly.
I met Derriel McCorvey once at a continuing legal education seminar in Lafayette. He was a great guy to talk to, and played for both Archer and Hallman. When asked about Curley, he obviously has a stock response, "He almost brought the LSU football program down, single handed." He shook his head and said he'd prefer not to dwell on the bad things surrounding his playing days. Overall he's a bright and positive guy, but has little good to say about Curley.
I don't think he was "crazy" about the guy, if you know what I mean.

quote:Derriel McCorvey is a very good person and was a fine player. If you see him again you can ask him if he remembers how the Depth Chart would change on game days or the Auburn game when we had their asses whipped and Hallman threw his famous prevent defense that helped their all conference kicker win the game for them as the clock ran out. Hallman was a nut case.
Overall he's a bright and positive guy, but has little good to say about Curley.
