He dominated CUSA with Chase Keenum, & the Big XII with Wheeden & Blackmon. We'll see how he does with a significant downgrade in talent across the board. His DC is legit, however, so I expect some competitive games out of his team this year. They may surprise.
There are some very good WRs at WVU and Geno Smith has as much physical talent as anyone.

Now that I've changed a few vowels & consonants around in your previous sentence, you do realize how nebulous that statement is, right?
I said that their talent was decent, but probably not ready for year 1. Keep in mind this guy has had Chase Keenum, who was a 4th & 5th year player when he (& don't forget Sumlin) had him at Houston. On top of that, he had Wheeden, who was a former pro-baseball player who was significanly older (25+) when Holgerson got to him. Blackmon was just a freak that nobody really expected that kind of thing out of.
There's a context with Holgerson. I personally think he's a fantastic innovator and one of the best offensive coaches the game's seen recently. He was in a bad personal situation there in Morgantown, and the jury's completely out on his recruiting ability.
But, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I pretty much already made the point that they may surprise people, but are downgrading in talent across the board on offense.
If you wanna play a hypothetical game-right now-and let me choose Wheeden & Blackmon over WVU's cast of offensive character, and allow them to both be coached by Holgerson, well, then, how much money do you have on you? I wanna lay down a bet.
In other words, WVU's got talent, but its not as good as what he had last year, and Geno Smith or Chase Keenum? Hmm...That's a push, and for that to be said when comparing an AQ vs a Non AQ? Wow.
So, again, like I said, he's downgrading talent. If you're telling me otherwise, well, we'll just agree to disagree.
