In the last few years we've lost Tressel, Meyer and Carroll who I think most would say were all in the top 10. So who comprises that list now? Do you put guys who haven't been doing it as long in there like Chip Kelly and Chizik? Do you put a guy like Pat Fitzgerald in there who gets the most out of what he has in a power conference? How about a relic like Joe Pa? Mid Major guys like Patterson and Peterson?

saban
chip kelly
fisher
stoops
petrino
miles
brown?
spurrier
peterson
brian kelly
muschamp

I really don't know about brown and muschamp. Brown resembles miles imo in alot of ways. Not personality wise, but in hiring great assistants and sometimes underperforming with the level of talent at their disposal.

I think miles is a great coach and we will find out alot this year. Right now top 10 coach. Wins the sec or NC- top 5 possibly top 3

i'd put Brian Kelly in there as well. i know he hasn't had a chance to prove himself at ND yet, but you can't discount what he did at GVS, C. Mich and Cincy.

I'd say Beamer has to be on there over somebody like Muschamp. Bob Stoops has to be on there too.

yup. I put kelly in thier too. No denying he is a great coach, same for muschamp and i think he will do great things at florida. The problem is, fisher is gaining alot of steam and it will make it that much harder

I didn't think about Brian Kelly, but yall are right. I hate that he's at ND because I really like him.

I don't think that's a bad list, but I would probably take out Muschamp and Petrino and replace them with Stoops (Bob obviously) and maybe Bo Pelini. It's hard to say with so many coaches who look promising, but haven't really won anything yet.

Based on what they have accomplished already-

JoePa
Spurrier
Stoops
Saban
Miles
Beamer
Brown

not sure about the last 3 probably Kelly, Ferentz, Peterson, Tedford...

i have a problem putting Bo on thier because we simply don't know how long he will last. He is volatile. I have a problem with muschamp and will probaly take him off and put up a honorable mention list for hot up and coming coaches.

Petrino imo is a excellent coach. He performs at a very high level (just shy of elite albeit very very little), with not near the tallent of the big ones which would be

bama, texas, usc, lsu, florida, oklahoma

Butch Davis is another name to consider if you're throwing Spurrier out there IMO.

No
Butch Davis 79 wins, one season with 10 or more wins

Spurrier 186 wins, 9 seasons with 10 or more wins & a National Title

Solid List.

But I would put Saban over Stoops.
